This succinctly encapsulates the core philosophy behind Manthey’s latest Kit, designed specifically for the 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS platform, marking its debut. If anything, this claim might be an understatement of the year.
The newest 911 GT3 RS is widely recognized as an incredible track car in its own right, so Manthey was challenged to ensure its enhancements clearly surpassed the factory model (although all Manthey products are now technically OEM). They have undeniably risen to the occasion. The outcomes are evident, leaving us eager in anticipation of the records likely to be shattered when Manthey and Porsche reveal an official lap time at the Nürburgring.
As of now, we’ve only witnessed the test mule in action, and it seems we’ll need to wait until the upcoming driving season for an official attempt. Expectations are high for it to outperform the 6:49.328 set by the stock vehicle in 2022 with Jörg Bergmeister behind the wheel.
Unapologetically Aerodynamic
The most striking alterations—at least from a visual standpoint—are undoubtedly the extravagant aerodynamic enhancements brought forth by the Manthey team. It’s reported that these modifications work together to enable the car to generate up to 1,000 kg of downforce at 177 mph, surpassing the original 860 kg. This is truly remarkable for a road-legal car.
Immediately, the rear of the vehicle captures our attention, where numerous upgrades are evident. For one, the rear window has been swapped for a carbon panel, reportedly 25 percent lighter than the glass it replaces. This carbon piece features a monumental “shark fin”, inspired by the 963 hypercar, enhancing downforce and giving the car a seriously aggressive look. While the science behind this is straightforward, the implications for street legality remain unclear—local law enforcement might not take kindly to it.
The rear wing setup is vastly more robust than the standard model, flanked by two massive end plates. Importantly, the new wing remains compatible with the factory DRS system, which Manthey has augmented with a 2-piece carbon fibre blade. Additionally, there are 6 more roof fins to complement the 2 already present on the base car, further enhancing aerodynamic performance and helping redirect warm air away from the intakes. A more intricate and larger carbon rear diffuser replaces the original, designed to increase downforce without any added drag. The signature Manthey rear wheel “aerodiscs” finalize the transformation of the GT3 RS’s rear.
At the front, the Manthey Kit introduces front dive planes—two on each side—and a front spoiler lip reinforced with metal support rods. Furthermore, a redesigned wheel arch gurney flap is included at each end of the front spoiler lip. A new underbody cover for the front axle has also been added to enhance the airflow management beneath the vehicle.
No More Power, Never a Problem
True to previous Manthey iterations, the latest Manthey Kit does not increase the power of the 992-gen GT3 RS’s 525 PS engine. Manthey’s philosophy remains consistent: to refine the chassis and handling dynamics of the car to elevate its precision as a performance tool. The previously mentioned aerodynamic enhancements certainly contribute, but Manthey has also provided a new suspension configuration that swaps out all four dampers for a semi-active coilover setup, increasing spring rates by 30 percent in the front and 15 percent at the rear. This system integrates seamlessly with the existing PASM setup, maintaining all original driving modes—Normal, Sport, and Track.
When it comes to braking systems, the modifications are less intricate than those found throughout the rest of the vehicle, yet they significantly enhance the overall driving experience. Manthey offers a specially designed brake pad kit suitable for both steel and PCCB (Porsche ceramic composite brake) users, engineered to improve resistance to brake fade. Additionally, a set of braided stainless steel brake lines is included to enhance the feedback on the pedal. “The car dives, pitches and rolls even less, offering a much more stable aerodynamic platform. The high contact pressure therefore remains very constant under all driving conditions,” stated Porsche Brand Ambassador Jörg Bergmeister regarding the Manthey 992-gen GT3 RS.
Pricing & More
For enthusiasts seeking further customization options, customers can personalize their vehicles with features such as Manthey LED door projectors, illuminated door sill trims, front/rear toe lugs, and a decal package. Although not all dealer websites have the latest Manthey Kit listed yet, Porsche Centers in the UK have already provided details on their sites—these kits start at a price of £99,999, which is roughly $125,000 USD. Inquiries can also be made directly with Manthey by emailing [email protected].
We’ve been informed that deliveries are anticipated to commence early next year, aligning well for those looking to enjoy their vehicles during the driving seasons in spring and summer of 2025. As part of the Porsche Tequipment catalog, Manthey components will not void any of Porsche’s factory warranties, provided they are installed by a qualified Porsche Center technician. The Manthey Kit will undoubtedly require a significant investment from its buyers, yet it promises to deliver remarkable value in return. Truly, it is an impressive offering.
