Co-developed with Red Bull Racing, the Valkyrie aims to replicate the thrilling performance of a Formula 1 car while being street-appropriate. Adrian Newey, the technical director at Red Bull, was instrumental in the vehicle’s design. Aston Martin asserts that the Valkyrie pushes the envelope of engineering, a claim supported by the extensive and complex development process the car underwent.
The Valkyrie was initially envisioned in 2014, with the prototype revealed in 2016 and making its dynamic debut at Silverstone in 2019. However, it wasn’t until November 2021 that the first customer vehicle was completed, a testament to the project’s intricacy. Each of the 150 units produced was meticulously hand-assembled, requiring approximately 2,000 man-hours.
Boasting remarkable specifications, the Valkyrie features a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine delivering 1,000 horsepower, complemented by an additional 140 hp from its hybrid system. The vehicle’s acceleration is astounding, achieving 0-100 km/h in a mere 2.6 seconds and capable of exceeding a top speed of 400 km/h. Its lightweight construction, devoid of steel components and focusing on aerodynamic efficiency, significantly enhances its performance akin to that of an F1 car, establishing it firmly as a hypercar.
A remarkable 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé is scheduled for auction at RM Sotheby’s in Dubai on December 1, with a projected value of up to $3 million USD. This specific vehicle boasts an eye-catching Lunar White exterior adorned with red detailing, a gloss carbon roof, and a Pure Black Alcantara interior featuring Spicy Red stitching. What sets this Aston Martin Valkyrie apart is its impressively low mileage, having recorded only 109 kilometers since it was first purchased, representing a unique chance for enthusiasts to acquire a nearly new work of art.
