Lamborghini has given an Urus Performante to the Italian police force. It will be added to the highway police team alongside the Huracan LP610-4 in 2024, and it will be utilized for special services, including the urgent transport of organs and plasma for medical purposes.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, stated, “It is with great pleasure that we are continuing our twenty-year co-operation with the Italian State Police. Knowing that our cars are used for public duties and, above all, for crucial operations to save human lives, can only make me and the whole company proud. These initiatives, which bring us great satisfaction, demonstrate our innate close ties with Italy.”
The Urus Performante is adorned with the classic blue and white livery of the Italian State Police, featuring tricolor bands on the sills and seat belts. Police logos have been applied to the doors in reflective film, and it has a light bar with 360° blue LED lights installed on the roof, along with a two-tone electric siren.
The cockpit has been customized with various elements that are essential for public security services, including an armoured weapon box, a flip-down message display, and a special compartment in the trunk for stowing service equipment and a defibrillator for first aid response. Additionally, a portable fridge for organ transportation is fitted, including a display and data logger for continuous monitoring of the internal temperature.
The Urus is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 657 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph.
