The C8 Spyder left a notable mark on the supercar landscape, establishing itself as one of the most exhilarating and esteemed vehicles to possess during its heyday. It raised the bar for quality and precision, traits that have since characterized many of the world’s leading hypercars. Bonhams Cars is preparing to auction a Spyker C8 Spyder, which is believed to be the last unit manufactured prior to the company’s closure.

The Spyker C8 was introduced in 2000 and was powered by a 4.2-liter Audi V8 engine generating 400 horsepower, achieving a top speed of 186 mph. The C8 was constructed with a spaceframe chassis made from aluminum components, while the body panels were sourced from the UK and Germany. Following its debut, several variants emerged, including the C8 Laviolette coupé and the twin-turbocharged C8 Spyder T. The C8 garnered substantial recognition, leading Spyker to penetrate the U.S. market in 2005 after establishing its footprint in the supercar realm.

The final Spyker C8 Spyder, identified by chassis number ‘110,’ was finished in 2014, shortly before the company filed for bankruptcy. This distinctive vehicle features a side-skirt badge that highlights its status as the last production model. Its exterior is adorned in a striking Gunmetal Grey Metallic finish, complemented by a rare buckskin leather interior—one of just two cars featuring this unique combination.

Factory specifications indicate a power output of 443bhp and a maximum speed of 198mph. Chassis ‘110’ is well-equipped, as verified by Spyker expert Jasper Den Dopper, and includes an enhanced, lower-maintenance engine. Additionally, it features a leather luggage set, a periscope rearview mirror, red brake calipers, and a limited-slip differential.

Originally created as a factory demonstrator, this vehicle was assembled using new parts and subsequently sold to a German collector before making its way back to the current owner. In 2020, SpykerEnthusiast made significant upgrades to chassis ‘110,’ incorporating a propeller steering wheel, four-point harnesses, and various other enhancements. The vehicle is now on the market with only 740 kilometers on the odometer and is predicted to sell for between $440,000 and $550,000 at auction.
