Two Koenigsegg hypercars seized by Chinese customs earlier this year have been auctioned off. The Regera, despite its rough condition from sitting idle in a warehouse for 2 years without maintenance, was sold for approximately $3.52 million, according to @koenigseggjesko.registry.
The neglected Koenigsegg Regera faced potential battery issues due to its hybrid nature and lack of charging while stored in China. It was bought by Ningbo Car Club, a used car dealer, and is undergoing restoration and servicing at FFF Automobiles in Beijing as seen in images released.
Identified as chassis no. 7159, this Regera features a Horizon Blue exterior with a white stripe down the center, and a Tan leather interior. It sports AirCore Carbon ‘biohazard’ wheels with white brake callipers, and unique scripts like “By Echo” on the front splitter and “E = mc^2” on the driver’s side.
The Koenigsegg Regera is equipped with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors, delivering an impressive 1500 hp and 1500 lb-ft of torque. Its ‘Direct Drive’ transmission enables acceleration from 0 to 400 km/h (248 mph) in under 20 seconds.
