The 440-page book, authored by Johann Petit and Pascal van Mele, edited by Julius Kruta – Bugatti historian and former Head of Tradition at Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., includes over 700 never-seen-before period photos, historical images, and original sketches. Only 330 copies of this book will be produced.
The definitive Bugatti EB110 book was introduced at Retromobile in 2020. Due to its high demand, the decision was made to start afresh and compile a comprehensive narrative of the iconic EB110 that reestablished the Bugatti brand. The new book aims to narrate the complete story of Bugatti Automobili S.p.A. and the Bugatti EB110.
Bugatti’s history can be segmented into three eras led by – Ettore Bugatti, Romano Artioli, and Ferdinand Piech. This book specifically delves into Bugatti’s Italian resurgence, showcasing the introduction of groundbreaking cars like the EB110 and EB110 SS, and the brand’s return to racing. Kruta rightly acknowledges in the prologue that Romano Artioli deserves credit for single-handedly reviving the Bugatti brand and returning it to the pinnacle of the automotive world where it shines to this day.
The EB110 was crafted and engineered by an internal team at the renowned ‘La Fabrica Blu’ in Campogalliano, Italy. It was constructed on a carbon fiber chassis and featured a distinctive 3.5-liter quad-turbo V12 engine, setting it apart from other vehicles in the market at that time. This model paved the way for future Bugatti models like the Veyron and Chiron.
