Back in 1992, McLaren made a significant impact on the supercar market with the introduction of the remarkable McLaren F1. This supercar was unlike anything seen before, showcasing characteristics such as being lightweight, fast, and agile, shattering numerous records in the process. Representing a no-holds-barred approach to car manufacturing, the McLaren F1 set a new standard for supercars in various aspects, forever changing perceptions of what these vehicles could achieve.
The McLaren F1 introduced several groundbreaking features to the automotive world, including being the first production car to incorporate a carbon-fiber monocoque and a centrally positioned driver’s seat, in addition to numerous other unique elements and technological advancements. Its claim to fame as the world’s fastest production car, reaching a speed of 240.1 mph, was made possible by its innovative 6.1-liter, 48-valve, naturally aspirated V12 engine sourced from BMW, delivering an impressive 627 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.
RM Sotheby’s is excited to present a unique 1995 McLaren F1 with only 400 kilometers since it was manufactured, making it the F1 with the lowest mileage ever offered to the public. This particular F1, known as chassis 029, stands out due to its special “Creighton Brown” paint finish, named after McLaren co-founder Creighton Brown.
According to factory records, it is listed as the 25th and final F1 produced in 1994. What adds to its uniqueness is the inclusion of custom luggage and a tool roll made of the same Light Tan leather as the interior – features specific to chassis 029. The vehicle spent most of its time in Japan until 2013 when it was imported to the US and legalized for road use.
The stunning 1995 McLaren F1 is set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s. This exceptional car, known for its remarkable specifications, is one of the most coveted McLaren F1s ever produced. The bidding for this McLaren F1 will commence on May 13 and is anticipated to surpass $20 million USD.
