The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition was designed for the 275 customers who had pre-ordered the German manufacturer’s plug-in hybrid hypercar, first revealed in concept form in 2017. The car features a hybrid petrol/electric powertrain inspired by Formula 1 technology. Adapting this innovation for a production road car took longer than expected for Mercedes.
Mercedes showed appreciation for their customers’ patience by offering the opportunity to buy a special Project One variant of the Black Series exclusively to those who had pre-ordered the hypercar. The Black Series spin-offs remained unavailable to those who hadn’t pre-ordered.
Now, there’s a rare opportunity to own this exclusive high-end sports car through Bring A Trailer. This specific 2021 P One Edition model features a unique Cirrus Silver and Obsidian Black color combination inspired by the design of the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport F1 W10 Formula 1 race car.
The three-pointed star logo is hand-painted from the doors to the back of the car, giving it a unique look. The Turquoise Green accents inside and out are a nod to the long-standing partnership between Mercedes-Benz and its main sponsor Petronas.
The AMG GT Black Series AMG ONE Edition showcases top-notch technology from Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and F1 racing, elevating driving performance to the maximum level. It boasts a powerful M178 twin-turbocharged 4.0L V-8 engine, custom-designed for the GT Black Series, generating an impressive 720 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque. This power is delivered through an AMG Speedshift dual-clutch automatic transmission to an AMG limited-slip differential via a carbon fiber torque tube.
The AMG GT Black Series AMG ONE Edition comes with high-end features like 19″ and 20″ forged wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes, adaptive sport suspension, carbon-fiber bodywork and trim, LED lights, front and rear cameras, heated AMG performance seats, and a Burmester surround-sound system. This specific model only has 65 miles on it, essentially making it a brand new car.
