Introduced at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Senna marks McLaren’s third addition to the Ultimate Series, succeeding the F1 and P1 models. Named after the renowned Formula 1 Champion Ayrton Senna, who achieved 35 Grand Prix victories and three World Championships with McLaren.
McLaren’s primary focus was on optimizing track performance with the Senna, presenting its most extreme road-legal vehicle with groundbreaking aerodynamics. Unlike the hybrid P1, the Senna is powered solely by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine borrowed from the 720S, delivering 789bhp. This powertrain, alongside a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, enables the Senna to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).
The significance of weight reduction is evident in the Senna’s design, with the omission of an electric motor resulting in a dry weight of just 1,198 kg, primarily utilizing carbon fiber. The vehicle’s advanced aerodynamics, featuring a sizable twin-element rear wing and front bumper winglets, create 800 kg of downforce at 249 km/h (155 mph), enhancing its performance on the track.
The Bring A Trailer website is currently listing a 2019 McLaren Senna for sale, which has only 503 miles on its odometer. This particular Senna is number 133 out of the limited production run of 500 units. It is painted in Chicane Grey with glossy carbon-fiber accents and comes equipped with unique twin-hinge dihedral doors, a roof scoop inspired by Formula One, and an electronically adjustable rear wing.
The interior of the car features a combination of black Alcantara upholstery with orange embroidery and seatbelts. It is equipped with luxurious amenities including the McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT) app, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a portrait-oriented infotainment system that includes Bluetooth, satellite radio, and navigation functionalities.
