The Aston Martin Vantage is a vehicle that truly doesn’t require an introduction. However, let’s skip the cliché—it’s more accurately a re-introduction. This iconic nameplate is set to make its comeback in the Aston Martin lineup for the 2025 model year, after a five-year absence.
Apart from the more extreme models, the new 2025 Vantage reinstates its position at the forefront of Aston Martin’s production lineup, especially when considering its historically significant collection of front-engine British luxury grand tourers. Poised to star in the upcoming Bond film, the latest version of the Vantage merges contemporary supercar insights with traditional British charm and elegance.
A Flexible Foundation
With its five-year break, Aston Martin faced less pressure or opportunity to replicate elements of the previous third-generation Vantage, which raises questions about the extent of changes over the years. On the consumer side, absence certainly creates longing, right?
In numerous respects, Aston Martin enjoyed a blank slate during the revival process, enabling the new Vantage to feature the latest advancements in performance, technology, and aesthetics—and they certainly succeeded. However, they also bore the responsibility of ensuring the new Vantage remained true to its heritage. Personally, I believe they achieved that, which is not an easy feat under the best circumstances.
Performance & Handling
V12 Excellence
At the pinnacle of the incredible offerings of the new 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish is its extraordinary 5.2L twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering an astounding 823 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. The engine reaches its redline at 7,000 rpm while peak torque kicks in at just 2,500 rpm. Aston Martin claims it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, culminating in a top speed of 214 mph. Highly impressive, albeit bordering on excessive for a grand tourer—but I digress.
When compared to the previous second-gen Aston Martin Vanquish S, this represents a significant leap from its 580 hp output. It seems a five-year hiatus can yield such advancements, especially given the rapid pace of performance technology today. Enthusiasts will be delighted to note there’s no hybrid enhancement involved here, as the impressive stats might imply some additional assistance alongside the traditional internal combustion engine. Furthermore, the new Vantage maintains its distinctive engine and exhaust note, avoiding a direct fuel injection system. An optional titanium exhaust system is available for those seeking an even richer auditory experience.
Paired with the V12 engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission that directs power solely to the rear wheels. Given its substantial power output, a cutting-edge electronically operated limited-slip differential plays a crucial role in ensuring effective transfer of power to the road. The principal concern regarding off-the-line traction lies with tire grip, as the limitations of street-legal tires can hinder performance for a sports car boasting over 800 hp.
Advanced Chassis
The heart of the new 2025 Aston Martin Vantage’s impressive driving capability is an adaptive suspension system, offering multiple driving modes tailored to situations ranging from urban driving to high-performance track use. This system is complemented by a sophisticated traction control system that allows for varying levels of intervention based on driver preference and the chosen driving mode.
Standard on the new Vantage are carbon ceramic brakes, designed to manage the grand tourer’s impressive weight of 4,210 lbs. Additionally, the car features staggered 21-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires as part of its base specifications. Early evaluations highlighted the new Aston Martin Vantage’s well-balanced handling and exhilarating acceleration, although some careful throttle application is necessary to control grip levels from the original equipment street tires.
Design & Interior
Exterior
TheThe new 2025 Aston Martin Vantage upholds the iconic silhouette that has become a defining characteristic of its status as a luxury British grand tourer. With an elongated and sophisticated design, the Vantage spans over 16 feet from bumper to bumper, all while maintaining a 2-door, 2-seater layout—much of its length dedicated to its formidable twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Its width also impressively stretches close to 7 feet, resulting in a low-slung coupe that commands attention with its robust presence and athletic posture.
Aesthetically, the Vantage’s design masterfully combines sleek minimalism with subtle accents that hint at its performance capabilities. The ventilation features on the front bumper, hood, and fenders not only signal the power within but also create a striking contrast against its otherwise understated styling. While the rear profile highlights its performance lineage, it avoids overtly aggressive aerodynamic features, such as large rear wings, that could detract from the brand’s refined aesthetic. Notably, the Vanquish allows for various body color options, enabling owners to personalize the vehicle in numerous unique ways.
Cabin
Stepping inside, the interior reflects the opulence expected from a top-tier Aston Martin grand tourer, with options like cashmere available for those seeking the ultimate in luxury. The **16-way adjustable power seats** strike a perfect balance between luxury and sportiness, ensuring both driver and passenger enjoy a snug yet comfortable seating experience. Standard finishes include semi-aniline leather and faux-suede, while a variety of choices for materials and upgrades offer customers an opportunity to tailor their Vantage to their individual tastes, making it truly bespoke.
Thoughtful attention has been given to the car’s practicality for daily use, resulting in a surprisingly ample cargo area despite the traditional constraints of the Vantage’s design. The trunk space can easily accommodate enough luggage for a week-long trip or two sets of golf clubs with extra room to spare. Additionally, buyers have the opportunity to acquire a set of custom-fit luggage that reflects the car’s specifications, enhancing the efficiency of the storage space. Central to the new Vantage’s infotainment setup are two 10.3-inch displays mounted in the dashboard. One serves as a digital gauge cluster while the other, centrally positioned as a touchscreen, provides control over the vehicle’s media system, navigation, and more. Features such as Apple CarPlay and onboard Wi-Fi are included as standard options.
Pricing & Availability
The new Aston Martin Vanquish is set to remain exclusive, thanks to its pricing and limited production. The base model starts at an MSRP of $434,000 USD. For the 2025 model year, Aston Martin has announced a production limit of only 1,000 units, with approximately one-third of them intended for the North American market. While a convertible variant, the Volante, has yet to be officially confirmed, a release is expected within the next year, offering additional choices for those seeking the pinnacle of British super-grand touring.
