Efficient, stylish, and capable of traveling up to 78 miles on electric power alone, Volvo has its sights set firmly on the future with the Polestar 1.
There are several reasons why all attention is on the Polestar. Notably, it marks the debut of Volvo’s subsidiary based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
This two-door, four-seater grand touring coupe, with the upcoming Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 SUV in the pipeline, showcases Volvo’s commitment to innovation in the electric vehicle space.
The Polestar has established a production facility with around 200 employees and a business model to manufacture approximately 500 units annually for the initial three years, with the U.S. market receiving 150 cars per year. Its powertrain consists of a turbocharged and supercharged inline-four engine combined with two electric motors, each producing 85 kilowatts.
This potent configuration delivers an impressive output of 619 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, making the Polestar 1 an irresistible choice for enthusiasts.
