The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which has undergone a recent redesign, embodies a host of appealing updates that render it a more user-friendly and well-crafted vehicle from General Motors. It boasts a fresh, more assertive bodywork and a completely revamped frame.
If it delivers on all its promises, it is expected to be a lighter and more capable vehicle compared to its predecessor. How did it shed weight? Several factors contribute to its lighter build, including the use of specific materials for the hood, doors, and tailgate.
Although the roof, fenders, and bed are constructed from steel, Chevrolet asserts that the vehicle has managed to shed 450 pounds. This significant weight reduction hints at the vehicle’s potential to navigate more swiftly across varied terrains.
Despite being larger than its forerunner, the Silverado 1500 features a wheelbase that is 3.9 inches longer than the current model, contributing to an overall length increase of 1.6 inches.
The Silverado 1500 will be available in regular cab, double cab, and crew cab body styles, all of which will be offered with 4WD. With up to eight trims available, this vehicle provides a broad range of options to choose from.
Specifics regarding the horsepower for the all-new Chevy are currently limited. However, it will incorporate a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, a 6.2-liter V-8 engine, and turbo-diesel engines equipped with stop/start technology, paired with up to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
