Any car enthusiast will tell you that there is a small British automaker that is not easily intimidated. It is known as the Ultima and is known for its lightweight cars, low-production of mid-engine track cars.
They recently announced that they will be building the Ultima RS a completely new performance machine that will be handed out with Chevrolet V-8 engines. Our curiosity is drawn to the prospects of this car pulling a whooping 1200 horsepower.
One of the vivid notables on the RS is that sets it apart with the outgoing GTR the vehemently improved aerodynamics. The rear wing as well as the dive planes, the diffuser (which is now carbon fiber), fender vents and diver planes are some of the improvements weighed on the Ultima RS.
Whereas this has been the is good enough for the Ultima RS, the real juice lies in the number of engines available. They are all Chevrolet V-8 ranging from the LS3, LS7, LSA, LT1, LT4 to the mammoth LT5.
Let’s give them a sneak preview. The highest supercharged LT5 engine is offered two trims: one, which is sort of the “base” engine produces 800-horsepower while the other is the staggering 1200-horsepower version.
This one, according to the automaker will sprint from 0-60 mph in a mere 2.3 seconds. It will also stagger all the way to the 250 mph mark.
If you go down just one step to the LT4 engine, you will sprint from 0-60 mph in some simple 2.5 seconds. It will take you all the up to life-threatening 210 mph. Even the lowest of the engines that is the LT1, will take you only 3.0 seconds to land at 60mph. Its top speed is again, neck-breaking 180 mph.
