If we were to summarise what is happening the league of electric vehicles, we would simply say, so far, so good! Why?
Besides the well-known conglomerates that are eyeing the huge market, several new players are infiltrating the segment in a very promising fashion. Italian company DR3 is the latest to add interesting twists to the matrix. They have an innovative car dubbed the DR3 EV.
This is an all-electric vehicle that sucks power from a 54.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The company goes ahead to state that the battery weighs 385 kg and the small crossover car can run up to 400 km (248.5 miles) in-between charges.
When the car premiered at the Geneva Motor Show, the company also said that maintaining a constant speed of about 60 km/h (37 mph), will help you cover 500 km (310 miles) on a single charge. This is an incredible good achievement for an introductory product.
It gets even juicer considering that this car can charge fully in about 6 to 8 hours. Still, just half an hour is enough to boost them up to 80 percent.
There are two driving modes, Eco and Sport that you can take advantage of and the vehicle pulls 120HP. The inattentiveness we continue to see in this segment is extremely encouraging. In addition, there is the boldness of new entrants that make the ground very encouraging to play along.
