The Saleen S1 Comes With 780 Horsepower

When Steve Saleen started modifying Ford Mustangs in in 1984, he probably didn’t envision himself developing a car that would finally bear his name. Several years later it would turn out that Saleen is now a stand alone automaker and doing considerably well in the game.

Enter the Saleen S1, rightly named the SA 35 in celebration of Saleen’s 35 years in the industry. The vehicle is a hybrid of several cuttings that blend so well to constitute a sleek unique body design wrapping up exotic engineering works underneath.

The first notables are a Racecraft R Code suspension to improve the sixth-generation Mustang’s ground abilities. It also prides of a massive 5.0-liter V-8 to that delivers not less than 780 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque.

Evident on the curvy body work are multiple carbon-fiber components that give the Saleen an additional 1.5 inches in front and about 2 inches in back. The rationale here was to improve downforce and elevate handling.

When you consider that the 5.0 V8’s engine delivers an incredible 730 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, you realize what you have here is an outstanding work developed though the ages. Both the exterior and the interior have conspicuous footprints of Saleen’s favorite colors black, yellow, and white with badges to spell out the car’s identity.

Saleen is surely making a steady and indelible mark on the supercar space. These are not minor developments important footprints that are likely to result into some of the world’s most admired brands.

Although the S1 will be manufactured from China in the long run, the initial production will take place in Mississippi.
