The Renault Arkana Review: A Big & Imposing SUV

There is a revolution taking place in the automotive industry and it has everything to do with massive innovation focused on the future. What seemed almost unachievable is now happening faster than we probably expected.

If, for instance, you think of the all-new couple by French manufacturer Renault, you will understand this in a better perspective. Named the Arkana, it is set to come along later in 2019.

The car could be introduced on the western markets as well, probably in a different name and since Renault isn’t available in the USA, things might just remain the way they are here. It might still be early to speculate the specs on this rather imposing car.

However, given that this is a cost-effective coupe crossover, it is possible that it will assume the drivetrain available in the Renault Kadjar. It is a 1.2-liter, turbocharged, petrol engine that is offered with a 1.6-liter diesel given as optional.

The dual-clutch gearbox and maybe a 4WD from the Kadjar make the Arkana ready for the road and perform impressively in the market. Renault has made several attempts to remain properly position and it is easy to see why the Russian market forms an important part of its investment portfolio.

Russia is actually its second-biggest market where Renault holds more than a quarter of a market share. In the company’s strategic plan called “Drive the Future 2017-2022,” the company plans to have massive growth outside of Europe and Russia is set to continue being of prominence interest to the company.

The Arkana is an integral part of the plan. After all, the car will be built in Moscow in an AutoVAZ factory, from where it will be sent out to spread Renault’s gospel to other selected parts of the world.
