In a recent review, someone poised that the Fiat 500x is “A potential goldmine for Fiat.” Another one described this fairy priced crossover saying that it “has the capability to take you wherever you want to go. It is fit, fashionable and prepared to take on the most fun adventures ahead.”
Are these sentiments true about one of the most recognizable brands from Fiat Chrysler Italy? Quite frankly, we agree.
The Jeep Renegade will not rest easy as long as the Fiat 500X is cruising around. The base trim of this Fiat crossover comes standard with front-wheel drive and is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter inline-four that produces 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
This one is mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission. If you go for the naturally aspirated ZF nine-speed automatic, you will get a 2.4-liter four-cylinder.
This one gives you 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Base models roll on 16-inch steel wheels, but aluminum 16-, 17-, and 18-inches are available. The trim carrying 2.4 can also be tuned up to the all-wheel-drive system.
The 500X’s stands out as a cutely styled and perky car. It is this aspect that primarily distinguishes it in stark contrast to the larger Fiat 500L.
You will no doubt fall in love with FCA’s Uconnect touchscreen interface. It is easy and highly responsive, perhaps one of the most tempting in the modern auto industry.
It picks from 0-60 mph in just 7.8 seconds and through the quarter-mile in almost double that:16 secs.
This is not only a very practical car but also one that knows the style, comfort and wears nice tech in and out.
The price is agreeably competitive and well placed to take on a few brands reigning in this category.
