As we inhale the slow but sure death of sedans, there is still some hope left with the likes of the Nissan Maxima that has been slightly refreshed for 2019.
Changes on this are not very distinguishing from what was in 2018. Only through some attentive search will you notice changes such as the sort of U-shaped chrome piece that surrounds the Nissan logo (the company calls the “V-motion” grill.)
In addition, there is a remodeled set of headlights, upgraded rear fascia, LED tail-lights, and new quad exhaust tips. As from the previous, the Maxima boasts of 300-horsepower six-cylinder engine.
This becomes the latest model to receive wear Nissan’s evolving driver safety technologies. The call it the Safety Shield 360.
From this tech, you will enjoy automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic reverse braking, and high-beam assist. This is particularly helpful for night driving as it automatically dims high beams to oncoming traffic.
Though these upgrades are seemingly minor, they still beam hope that maybe the sedan segment won’t after all be left without representatives. Nissan director and chief marketing manager for the 2019 Nissan Maxima still holds the opinion that sedans have a chance. She says, “If you bring the right car, you have an opportunity.”
We hope that there is indeed an opportunity to grow this brand as we wait to see if it might eventually contemplate moving up to the SUV sphere.
