McLaren has introduced the Artura as the newest addition to their lineup. This exceptional car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid V6 engine, a departure from their previous V8-powered models. Despite this change, the new V6 engine is lighter than its predecessor, effectively offsetting the added weight from batteries and electric motors. With an impressive 670 horsepower and 720 Newton-meters of torque, the Artura can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, reaching an impressive top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h).
The Artura fills the gap left by McLaren’s most popular model, the 570S. It sits between the GT and the 720S in terms of performance and affordability. McLaren claims that this car marks the beginning of a new era for the company. The interior design has been updated to include more user-friendly instruments, new seats, a cleaner layout for major controls, and a less complex central touchscreen.
The folks at TheStraightPipes YouTube channel had the opportunity to test out the Artura and see how it stacks up against its competitors.
