Whereas the DS3 is already one of the most stylish hatchbacks on the market, the Café Racer limited edition model takes the whole language to the next level. Apparently, this DS3 is inspired by the London café racer motorcycle culture of the 1960s, adding a modern twist to this classic aesthetic, and proving that true style never goes out of fashion.
To underline how limited things can get, only 150 units are available and can already be ordered in three different grades. The first one delivers 110 PS (108 hp/81 kW) engine, with a manual gearbox, and costs $28,460. The second one adds a six-speed automatic transmission and the price is pegged at $30,491, and the third one is powered by the 130 PS (128 hp/95 kW) unit, mated to a stick shift, priced at $29,155.
Among distinctive features of the car are the four color combinations, with Ink Blue, Perla Nera Black, Platinum Grey and Ruby Red body finishes, and Parthenon Cream roof. To complement the vintage styling, there’s a range of innovative technology in the vehicle, including automatic wipers, heated mirrors, automatic air conditioning, rear-view camera, and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The 7-inch touchscreen incorporates a satellite navigation with DS Connect, offering live traffic updates, as well as mirroring technology to allow you to experience multimedia entertainment – as well as the necessary functionality – directly from your smartphone.
Indeed, there is a good reason why this car is limited, for it is worth all the hype. How will it impress its riders? We are open to feedback and we shall report it accordingly.
