The GT-R50, launched in 2019, celebrated the 50th anniversaries of both the Nissan GT-R and Italdesign. To honor this occasion, Italdesign designed a distinct concept inspired by the R35 GT-R, regarded as one of Japan’s premier supercars. Initially, there were plans for 50 units, but the pandemic and the vehicle’s high price tag resulted in only 18 being manufactured.
The limited-edition GT-R50 showcases an eye-catching aesthetic, including a roof that has been lowered by 54 millimeters, a more pronounced hood bulge, and modern LED headlights. The rear design is also significantly altered, featuring floating circular taillights and a sharply inclined rear window.
This vehicle is not only remarkable for its looks but also its performance. Under the hood lies a 3.8-liter V6 engine that has been upgraded with new fuel injectors, pistons, and an overhauled exhaust system. Enhanced with larger GT3-spec turbochargers and intercoolers, the engine delivers an impressive output of 710 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque.
The 2021 Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign boasts a refined powertrain that delivers performance through an enhanced six-speed dual-clutch transmission, along with upgraded differentials and driveshafts. The vehicle features a Bilstein DampTronic suspension system, custom-designed alloy wheels, and high-performance Brembo brake calipers for superior handling and braking.
