Luxury car manufacturers need to constantly innovate and introduce new features to stand out in the crowded automotive market. The all-new Aviator from Lincoln has managed to do just that with considerable success.
With a V6 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine under the hood, the Aviator boasts an impressive 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. There is also an optional more powerful version with 450 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque.
Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Aviator establishes itself as a top performer in the luxury SUV segment. The interior of this spacious vehicle features premium materials such as leather, wood, and aluminum, elevating it above earlier models that relied heavily on plastic components.
Entertainment is delivered through a 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system, offering a high-quality listening experience. Customers can select between a six-passenger configuration with individual second-row chairs or a seven-passenger setup with a middle bench.
Lincoln also claims that the Aviator can operate in pure electric mode, although the exact electric range remains unknown at this time.
In terms of technology, the Lincoln Aviator does not disappoint. Features like smartphone-controlled locking/unlocking and remote start via the Lincoln-Way app are available. The vehicle comes equipped with a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Aviator is packed with driver-assist technologies, including Co-Pilot 360 Plus, which can recognize traffic signs and assist with traffic jam situations, evasive steering, automated reverse braking, and active park assistance.
Lincoln’s strategic direction with the Aviator is clearly aimed at capturing a significant share of the luxury SUV market. This vehicle is positioned to make a strong entrance and compete for a top position in its category.
