In the automotive world, the competition between large and small car manufacturers has been fierce. This rivalry is expected to intensify throughout 2020 as companies strive to claim the top spot.
In 2019, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport made history by becoming the first production car to surpass the 300-mph mark. This achievement overshadowed competitors like Koenigsegg and Hennessy, setting a new benchmark that has yet to be challenged.
While Bugatti currently holds the title, Koenigsegg is gearing up for a comeback. The company has confirmed that a 300-mph version of the Jesko is in the works, with a potential debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March. Reports suggest that Koenigsegg’s goal is to surpass Bugatti’s record.
The fastest Koenigsegg to date is the Agera RS, which reached a record speed of 277.87 mph in 2017. The Jesko, equipped with a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 1,600 horsepower and 1,160 lb-ft of torque, accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Only 125 Jesko models will be produced, each carrying a price tag of $2.8 million. Customers can expect delivery of this exceptional vehicle in early 2021.
