The choice of engine for the 918 is a combination of a mid-mounted V-8 working alongside electric motors, one placed on each axle. Hitting a flashy top speed of 221-mph, the 918 demonstrates a good understanding of the kind of stuff it is truly made of.
With its low-lying body and chassis, this is a supercar designed for smooth fast acceleration, tenacious moves, and proper road grip. Looking at it from behind, the 918, seems like a missile launcher.
You give it a good look from the front and you won’t tell it is a Porsche, safe for the badge. Riding in the class of the LaFerrari and the indomitable McLaren P1, the 918 is no doubt in the company of graciously gifted cars.
It is the heaviest amongst its peers yet still manages to do produce the most torque at 944 pounds per feet. Once your lounge into the cockpit, you realize just how compact, and appropriately placed all important elements and offerings expected here have been curved.
The infotainment screen that is complemented by a touchpad churns out just about everything you need. From all the rewarding elements inside and outside the Porsche 918, it is evident that Porsche creators took their time to create it with really good reasons and intentions.
