Like all vehicle manufacturers, Chevrolet isn’t slumbering in its quest to have competitive products hit the tarmac. The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison is one of the latest delighting off-road machines to come from the automaker and it has all the qualities to fight for the top space.
Delivering 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, you can have this Chevy in two engine versions. There are the standard 3.6-liter V-6 and an inline-4 2.8-liter turbo-diesel. The later pulls a mild but still good-enough a 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
Whereas regular ZR2 comes with a suspension that can withstand most grievous harm, this one adds an extra two inches for better handling. The skidplates, which total five in number have been enhanced with modern technology using Boron steel in order to keep the oil pan better protected, as well as the fuel tank plus the front and rear differentials.
Steel bumpers both at the front and back give the Bison that extraordinary warrior’s look. With this, the off-road monster is well protected from tough, rocky terrain. Then Chevy found it wise to conspicuously display a huge Chevrolet mark over the front grille, just to keep you aware of what car this is.
Developed with the help of off-road experts American Expedition Vehicles, this new truck will fundamentally influence the next generation of off-road vehicles from Chevrolet. Chevrolet further says that the vehicle, whose delivery will begin in January 2019 will be priced at $48,045, inclusive of a $995 destination charge. There are two variants; the extended-cab variant and the crew cab variant. The crew cab variant will net around $49,645.
