Loosely translated from Italian, Centodieci means 110. The vehicle that will set you back $9 million dollars is built to celebrate the evocative Bugatti EB110 supercar that was a road king back in the early 1990s.
The EB110 was the company’s comeback product having laid dormant since the 1950s. Celebrating this achievement with the Bugatti Centodeici doesn’t seem like a bad idea at all, even though the end goal of the initial project was not achieved back then.
In the recent past, Bugatti seems to have mastered the art of releasing special editions that become road masters in their own rights. A good example is the Bugatti Veryon that reigned between 2005 and 2015.
It is worth no less than $1.5 million a piece. The Chiron which went into production in 2016 sells for well above $3 million. In 2018, Bugatti brought to us the Divo whose price tag was in the league of $6 million, with the company emphasizing that only 40 of them will ever see the light of day.
It, therefore, follows that the Bugatti Centodieci falls in the lineage of greatly hailed vehicles, including the one-off Bugatti La Voiture Noire priced at $19 million. Whereas all these cars carry the overwhelming 16-cylinder engine, the one under the skin of the Centodieci, is tweaked to generate an incredible 1,600 horsepower.
The lightweight allows it to sprint from zero to 60mph in an astonishing 2.4 seconds. The top speed, which you may never hit is 236 mph.
