Seat Tarraco 2019: Practical, Resilient, And Big

Up until the introduction of the new Seat Tarraco, if you were dying for a seven-seat Seat brand, your only option would be the Alhambra MPV. However, the new Tarraco introduces an extraordinarily practical way to run an SUV.

The new car comes to rival the likes of Volkswagen Tiguan (and Tiguan Allspace), Hyundai Santa Fe, Skoda Kodiaq and Ford Edge. It highlights Seat’s current styling language, characterized by specifications such as a bold grille, strong bodywork lines, and full LED lighting all round.

Inside, the Tarraco takes a more premium approach than previous Seat SUVs, with a new dashboard design that features wood trim and a new infotainment screen mounted in a modern tablet-like style. The Tarraco also gets a 10.25-inch screen behind the steering wheel in place of traditional dials.

The Seat Tarraco is offered with seven-seats as standard. Energy to make the new Seat grind on the tarmac comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel. It is available in 148 or 187 bhp versions.

The 148 hp version can be specified with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive or a dual-clutch automatic with four-wheel drive, with the more powerful engine limited to the automatic/four-wheel-drive combination. The Tarraco comes in four trim levels: SE, SE Technology, XCELLENCE and XCELLENCE LUX.

All models come as standard with metallic paint, DAB radio, ‘Full Link’ (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity), 17-inch alloy wheels, an alarm, and three-zone climate control. It looks like one Spanish SUV is no doubt determined to take competition head on.

With new tweaks and tech to flow along, it is clear that this is an unstoppable road beast,at least for now.
