When the Nissan Juke debuted in 2011, it surpassed expectations and became a remarkable success. Over the years, it has established itself as a distinctive vehicle that has been well-received by the market.
The upcoming 2019 Juke, set to be released in Summer 2019, is anticipated to take things a step further. Originally planned for 2018, the launch has been postponed, raising anticipation for what the new Juke will offer.
Nissan’s global design chief, Alfonso Albaisa, hinted at significant design changes for the new Juke in August 2018, describing it as an “urban meteor with a fierce attitude” that sets it apart from models like the IMx and the new Leaf.
The next-generation Juke is projected to offer engine options ranging from a 0.9-liter three-cylinder to a 1.2-liter four-cylinder, providing between 90 to 115 horsepower, similar to those in the Micra and Qashqai models. There is also speculation about a potential diesel engine variant with a 1.5-liter mill producing up to 110 horsepower, and the inclusion of a four-wheel-drive option.
While specific production details are limited, it is confirmed that the European versions of the next Juke will continue to be manufactured at Nissan’s Sunderland plant. However, its potential availability in the US market remains uncertain, as it has not performed as well there compared to other regions over the years.
