The unveiling of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Carbon Series at the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans promises to deliver a trifecta of raw power, premium functionality, and peerless refinement. This model, donned in the striking Chroma Flame color, not only boasts a myriad of cutting-edge design elements, such as exposed carbon fiber, but also features a newly engineered Performance pack aimed at delivering nimble maneuverability. Emphasizing both performance and aesthetics, the GTD Carbon Series is set to turn heads with its official entrance into the European market.
The most talked-about aspect of the Mustang GTD is undoubtedly its Performance package. Aiming for a landmark sub-7-minute lap time around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, the package equips the car with performance-enhancing features such as dive planes, an enlarged splitter on the front end, aerodynamic underbody flaps, and a rear wing outfitted with a drag reduction system. These aerodynamic upgrades are designed to trim drag as the car accelerates straight while preserving the crucial downforce needed in curves. Additionally, a Lightweight package removes superfluous sound insulation and introduces striking 20-inch magnesium wheels along with an exclusive front fascia. While the Carbon Series displays this Performance pack, these upgrades are offered throughout the Mustang GTD lineup.
For optimum performance, it’s crucial that a driver is at ease and focused, able to smoothly navigate each bend and straightaway with confidence. The Mustang GTD makes this possible, providing an interior designed for this purpose. It features standard Recaro seats that go hand-in-hand with the all-new steering wheel, optimizing control and comfort. The Le Mans event proudly serves as the inaugural showcase for the Mustang GTD’s cabin design.
The Mustang GTD’s steering wheel comes expertly crafted with a dense, cushioned rim accented by high-end Dinamica materials and a classy leather finish, all punctuated by sleek carbon-fiber detailing. What sets it apart is the inclusion of special switches integrated into the wheel. These allow the driver to tweak the stiffness of the suspension and the sound profile of the exhaust seamlessly, without ever having to take their focus away from the asphalt ahead.`
In the dashboard’s control center, two innovative additions are now at the driver’s fingertips—a feature-packed Track Apps button and a convenient lift system for the front axle, perfect for maneuvering around common ground obstacles without trouble.
Behind the wheel, drivers will delight in even more authority over the seamless performance of the supercharged 5.2-liter V8, with over 800 horsepower on tap, thanks to conspicuously sizeable, 3D-printed titanium paddle shifters. Not only do these paddles sport a hefty look, but they also bear a hexagonal design that is lightweight and offers a textured, grippable surface for the fingers, demonstrating Ford’s commitment to leveraging racing innovation to enhance the driving sensation. The tactile titanium theme extends to the dial-type gear selector situated in the central console as well.
“The Mustang GTD significantly amplifies the Mustang’s dynamic capabilities and also injects a more refined, premium ambience into the cockpit,” shared Anthony Colard, Design Manager.
The Mustang GTD turns heads at Le Mans with its striking new Chroma Flame paintwork, shining the spotlight at the event. This hue is a unique offering amongst six primary color options for the Mustang GTD, which also include Polymimetic Gray, Race Red, Shadow Black, Frozen White, and Lightning Blue. It’s a signature finish that distinguishes the Mustang GTD.
With its luxurious deep wine-red hue, the GTD complements the exclusive Carbon Series trim to perfection.
The Carbon Series showcases the vehicle’s carbon fiber structure by leaving the hood, roof, and rear deck in their raw state, while the wheels, available in both aluminum and magnesium, are finished in a sleek Magnetite color. Customization options include body color or contrasting stripe paints, as well as a choice of Grabber Blue, Race Red, or Black for the painted brake calipers.
The Mustang GTD revolutionizes the interface of the Mustang with advanced tech enhancements. Boasting the power of Unreal Gaming tech, the Sync 4 entertainment system creates a mesmerizing welcoming and departing display on its magnificent 13.2-inch screen and customizable 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. Personalize your driving experience with Mustang GTD animations for each of the six available driving modes, and access the exclusive Performance meter that simplifies the cockpit view, emphasizing the gear shift indicator and rev counter by omitting irrelevant data. The My Mustang page delights fans with a digital representation of the powerful Mustang GTD.
