Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport Leichtbau represents the newest vision from Manthey for ultimate track day excitement. Designed for drivers engaged in HPDEs and informal racing events, this latest version of the Clubsport is free from the constraints of traditional racing regulations. Consequently, the GT4 RS Clubsport Leichtbau can unleash an astounding output of 500 hp. However, that’s just the beginning…
It’s (More or Less) In The Name
While having maximum power is exciting, the name Leichtbau—meaning “lightweight construction”—implies that this car also focuses on weight reduction. In fact, it’s all about optimizing the vehicle’s weight.
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport Leichtbau successfully reduces its weight by an impressive 31 kg compared to the already agile base model, bringing its total weight down to 1,289 kg. Thanks to various enhancements, Manthey claims it now boasts a weight-to-power ratio of 2.6 kg/hp. This achievement largely results from the significant use of carbon fiber across nearly all body panels. In addition, the front hood has been redesigned to incorporate new ducting, which enhances cooling efficiency for the radiator and front brakes. To top it off, a custom set of BBS wheels contributes to the overall weight reduction.
