The Regera made its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as Koenigsegg’s initial hybrid model, intended for touring and designed as a complement to the Agera. It showcased Koenigsegg’s signature pre-impregnated carbon-fiber and aluminum honeycomb monocoque structure along with the innovative Koenigsegg Direct Drive (KDD) transmission to enhance efficiency by reducing weight and energy loss commonly seen in hybrid systems.
Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine and three electric motors, the Regera generated a total of 1,500 horsepower. In 2019, a Regera established a record by completing a 0-400-0 km/h run in just 31.49 seconds at Sweden’s Råda military airfield.
This specific Regera model is one of only 85 ever manufactured. It boasts a remarkable $501,330 worth of customized features, including lavish usage of real gold leaf and dust elements. Notable attributes comprise a $170,000 Clear Carbon finish, $57,000 Tresex AirCore wheels, and a $62,000 Dark Carbon strip embellished with gold dust. The vehicle is also adorned with gold leaf striping and 24K gold-plated exterior emblems and trimmings. Internally, it sports a Desiato Alcantara interior with carbon fiber and gold accents.
The vehicle has been well maintained and serviced by McLaren of Newport Beach and Bentley of Las Vegas. It was given a full protective paint film in 2021 and recently underwent a third-year service, including updates that cost nearly $19,000 and required a technician to be flown in from Sweden in spring 2024.
This specific Regera is in superb condition and is up for auction with only 1,512 miles on its odometer. It will go under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s 2024 Monterey event from August 15-17 and is anticipated to fetch up to $3,250,000
