Back in February, we shared that Bentley had plans to release a special edition model later this year. The automaker has now given us a glimpse of what’s to come with the first teaser of the upcoming Bentley Mulliner Batur. The official reveal of the car is scheduled for August 21, 2022.
This model is the result of Bentley’s collaboration with a renowned coachbuilder and marks the brand’s second venture following the Bacalar. Unlike its open-top predecessor, the Batur will be a coupe and is poised to showcase Bentley’s upcoming line of electric vehicles.
A significant feature of the Batur is that it will be the final Bentley vehicle to be driven by the iconic W12 engine. The current 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine boasts an impressive 650 horsepower and 667 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. While specific details of the W12 engine in the Batur are still under wraps, it is expected to deliver similar performance.
Reports suggest that only 25 units of the Bentley Mulliner Batur will be manufactured, with an estimated price tag of around £2.5 million.
