The Morgan Plus Six is a custom-built two-door, two-seat roadster with a retro design that harkens back to the 1950s and beyond. Revealed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, it replaces the Plus 8 which debuted in 2012. Notable features include a hard-top, modern technology, and a turbocharged engine.
The car is powered by a B58 engine sourced from BMW, delivering 335 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. It transfers power to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Morgan claims the Plus Six can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 4.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 166 mph. With a dry weight of 2,370 pounds, it’s relatively lightweight. Morgan utilizes the new CX-Generation chassis architecture, employing bonded aluminum to manage weight effectively.
While the interior receives significant updates like a new dashboard and stylish gauges, it still maintains the classic Morgan look, exemplified by the iconic sloping fenders commonly found on Morgan vehicles.
The Morgan Plus Six defies limitations and embraces possibilities, making it a head-turner, especially in a segment with few urban competitors. Given the ongoing love for retro styles among a new generation of car enthusiasts, the Plus Six should easily find its place in the market.
