We were anticipating its arrival. We knew it would be unveiled in Q1 2024. We expected it to have an impressive appearance and performance. Now, McLaren has unveiled the drop-top version of the McLaren Artura.

What we didn’t have details on were the price and power. Today, McLaren has divulged all the information about their newest supercar.

We’ll explore all the intricate details in a future post, but for now, let’s focus on the key points.

The Artura Spider is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine coupled with the “Axial Flux E-Motor” performance hybrid system. In the Artura coupe, this setup delivers a combined 680 PS (670 HP). However, for the Spider variant, McLaren has bumped up the power output to an even 700 PS (690 HP).

With this additional power, the Artura Spider accelerates to 60 MPH 0.1 seconds quicker than the Coupe, clocking in at 3.0 seconds flat. It reaches 124 MPH in 8.4 seconds and achieves 186 MPH in 21.6 seconds. All of this while reaching its top speed of 205 MPH with the roof up.

The McLaren Artura Spider has seen significant enhancements, including a redesigned 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that enables shifts to occur 25% faster than in the coupe model, almost reaching the speed of Formula One shifts. This upgrade is achieved through recalibration and increased pre-load power. The new transmission contributes to a more dynamic driving experience. The McLaren Artura Spider is truly a marvel of engineering.

Owning a Spider version of any supercar provides ample headroom. Going from covered to open sky takes just 11 seconds, even while driving at speeds under 31 MPH.

All the power, technology, speed, and performance of the McLaren Artura Spider come at a price. It has been priced at £221,500 in the UK, which is approximately $281,000 in the US market.

This is $43,500 more than the standard Artura Coupe, but with 700 HP and the open sky above you, we believe it’s worth it! Stay tuned for a detailed breakdown of the car’s features and performance in the upcoming days here on Supercars!
