Recently, we talked about the Maserati Project 24, a track-exclusive supercar inspired by the MC20. Now, Maserati announces another exciting development – the creation of the MC20 GT2. This high-performance racecar will be available for purchase by teams or individuals looking to compete in the 2023 Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship. The MC20 GT2 can be viewed as a modern successor to the successful MC12 racecars, which secured numerous victories in FIA GT Championships between 2004 and 2010.

To emphasize the connection between the MC12 and MC20, Maserati is commemorating its racing legacy at the 24 Hours of Spa. This event, where the MC12 triumphed three times (in 2005, 2006, and 2008), marks the beginning of the new Maserati Corse era. Davide Grasso, the Maserati CEO, expressed the brand’s commitment to racing: “We are passionate about both road and track performance. With a rich history of motorsport excellence, we are thrilled to introduce the remarkable MC20 into competitive racing. Racing has always been a fundamental aspect of Maserati’s DNA, and now, with entries in the Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship and the Formula E Championship, we are laying the foundation for a promising future.”
