First unveiled as a concept at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, the KIA Telluride is set to make its official debut in 2019 as a three-row, eight-seater SUV. This move marks KIA’s entry into the realm of high-end luxury SUVs.
Compared to its initial concept, the Telluride has seen significant improvements. It is expected to be built on a front-wheel-drive platform similar to the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, likely featuring the robust 3.3-liter V6 engine as the main powertrain option due to its size.
KIA’s focus on well-being is evident in the Telluride, with Smart Sensors installed in the front seats to monitor vital health data in real-time. The findings are displayed on interior door-panel screens, while a Light-Emitted Rejuvenation (LER) system emits therapeutic light from a unique ceiling-mounted LED panel.
These technological features set the Telluride apart in an era where automotive advancements redefine the driving experience. Coupled with a fingerprint-activated push-button start, 3D-printed components including the dashboard and door panels, a high-tech audio system with headphones, KIA’s futuristic SUV promises a tech-savvy ride.
Utilizing technology to enhance user satisfaction is crucial for any automaker, and the KIA Telluride seems poised to impress with its blend of size and innovative features. However, the practicality and functionality of these technological amenities will ultimately determine the Telluride’s success.
