The dynamics at work in the Electric Vehicle market are constantly shifting even as companies work hard to find their space in this segment. Nobody seems to sleep anymore as projections firmly indicate that this is indeed the next frontier.

In Europe, the Jaguar I-pace becomes the first electric SUV to come from a top-rated and decorated manufacturer. The good thing is that it has brought about some plausible, competitive and unique characteristics. Given that this is the company’s first all-electric vehicle, the marketing department has a little head scratching to do to scale competition.

The I-Pace is powered by a 90 kWh Lithium-ion battery which is responsible for the 394 horse power. With an acceleration of 4.8 secs from 0-100 kph, the SUV is unarguably a sports car that is above an average five-passenger luxurious automobile.

The official launch for the I-Pace is slated to take place in November but deliveries are already in high gear. Among endearing aspects of this family-suited vehicle is its competitive pricing in comparison to its predecessors. Retailing at $70,495 in the U.S inclusive of shipping charges, it is apparent that the I-Pace is well equipped for market disruption.

Recent news indicated that Jaguar had delays in delivering earlier reserved orders, with analysts forecasting that Jaguar will even see increased demand in coming days.Additionally, Jaguar introduces a new matrix given her firm European presence, wide-reaching dealerships and a distinguished brand.

Last June Jaguar invited about a dozen journalists for a test drive in Portugal around a Formula One track and, though expected, there was a general consensus that the vehicle can hit triple-digit speeds with confidence, agility and the stability of a supercar.

Even though speculation as to what happens in the EV market in coming days is rife, it is clear that small, medium and mega automakers are pushing the bounders to cash in on the market. The distinguishing factors, however will including performance, tech-responsiveness, marketability and of course price. Notwithstanding, the days of clean energy automobiles are here.
