Jaguar Celebrates Their Incredible Journey Of 70 Years With The F-Type

Jaguar has a rich history in all aspects particularly in making sports cars.In recent years and riding with the tide, heavy investments have gone into its electric cars and enviable results are resounding going by the Jaguar I-Pace elevated status. Among the oldest in this category is the special F-Type which begun in 1948 with the XK120. In this series, there has been brands such as the E-Type, XK and he iconic XJ220.

To celebrate this journey and the milestones achieved, Jaguar has produced a special edition called the Jaguar F-Type Chequered Flag. Like all other Jaguars before it, it is an exquisite machine by design and engineering, with a fineness and thoroughness reflected in its finishing.

The confidence in its strides is also articulated by Chief Designer Ian Callum who summarized it as “Perfect proportions, design purity and visual drama – every Jaguar must express these qualities, and none more so than F-Type,”
Then there is the promise of majestic performance. Callum says that focus has been expediently given to detail, making it a worth and suitable fit for the 70th celebration.

Further information indicates that the Chequered Flag Coupés and Convertibles will be available in South Africa from April 2019 and pricing details are expected to be rolled out in due course.

A distinguishing element is the Chequered Flag badging along with logos affixed on the headrests, and tread plates. The F-type will also be catching up with technology in a bid to bring Jaguar at par with competitors. The infotainment unit features a JLR’s 10-inch Touch Pro screen. There is also the 2020 model that has the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto if you’ve got a compatible smartphone.

Seventy years of exemplary performance is a long time worth a toast. That Jaguar has chosen to bring forth the F-Type complete with special features for the celebration sends a bold statement about the company’s eagerness to cross over to the future.
