McLaren Automotive has an impressive lineup of GT racing cars such as the 720S GT3 and 570S GT4. The 570S GT4 will soon be replaced by the new Artura GT4. McLaren is now introducing the McLaren Trophy, a supercar championship for professional and amateur GT driver pairs. It will debut in 2023 at top European racing circuits alongside Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS events.
The McLaren Trophy championship will feature the McLaren Artura Trophy race car. Based on the Artura GT4, the Trophy edition is not bound by GT4 rules, allowing for more power and increased downforce compared to its GT4 counterpart. This enhancement will make the Artura Trophy as fast as a GT3 race car.
“We are thrilled to unveil the McLaren Trophy, showcasing the new Artura Trophy race car. This championship offers a premium racing experience that embodies the McLaren brand. With the growing popularity of Pro-Am GT racing, we look forward to welcoming both seasoned drivers and newcomers to our paddock for exhilarating seasons with the exceptional Artura Trophy race car.” Gareth Dunsmore, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Automotive
