It’s not often that we have the opportunity to witness the iconic Ford GT being pushed to its limits on a public road. The Ford GT is truly a motoring icon and a supercar that can reach speeds of over 200 mph. However, there are very few roads that allow speeds exceeding 100 mph, let alone 200. Luckily, thanks to the folks at AutoTopNL, we can now see a top speed run of the Ford GT in this video.
AutoTopNL acquired a modified 2006 Ford GT with Stage 1 tuning, which increases the power output to 600 hp, and decided to test its capabilities with a top-speed run on the Autobahn.
Even in its stock configuration, the Ford GT is far from slow. Its 5.4-liter all-aluminum V8 engine produces 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. With these power figures, the car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds, and it takes double that time to reach 124 mph. The top speed of the Ford GT is an impressive 205 mph.
