The Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution has broken the record for the fastest production car lap at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. It completed the lap in an impressive time of 2 minutes and 10.90 seconds, surpassing the McLaren P1’s time by 7 seconds!

Hennessey Performance describes the Venom F5 as a versatile hypercar, aiming for a top speed exceeding 300 mph while also excelling on road courses. During the record-breaking lap with driver David Donohue, the car demonstrated exceptional cornering abilities, pulling up to 1.59 G and braking at -1.61 G.

The Revolution edition of the Venom F5 features a high downforce kit, including a fixed rear spoiler, an extended front splitter with dual canards, and a redesigned engine cover with an integrated roof scoop for the 6.6-liter V8 engine.

The twin-turbo V8 engine generates a massive 1817 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 1,193 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm. Power is transferred to the rear axle through a single-clutch semi-automatic transmission. The Venom F5 Revolution comes equipped with substantial 390 mm carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as standard.
