Have You Seen The Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept?

Nissan has so far done considerably well with its concept cars and a wide range of hybrid crossovers and stand-alone SUVs. Just as the giant it is, it has refused to be passive participant in the continuous development of the automotive industry.

Its latest truck concept dubbed the Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept is one that promises to magnanimously impact the future of its trucks. The Dark Sky concept crafted from the familiar Navara ride is a mobile astronomy lab equipped with a state-of-the-art telescope mounted in an equally outstanding and bespoke off-road trailer.

To give life to the Dark Sky concept Nissan collaborated with the European Space Agency (ESA) and developed the vehicle in the UK. We might look at it as a vehemently upgraded Navara but is to a good extent a vehicle modeled to perform very peculiar and specific duties. As such, this one is more of a remodeled or recreated car rather than an upgrade.

Among areas of interest that Nissan took time on is the exterior lighting system. The automaker added red night lights at the corners, high-intensity white lights on the roof, and more red lights behind the roof to illuminate the bed.

According to Nissan, most lights have been given the red theme because this color affects human night vision least. This also helps astronomers make better observations of the sky during the night.

European Space Agency (ESA) senior mission manager Dr. Fred Jansen alluded to the efficient of this machine. He said, “The Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept allows observations to take place in very remote places, avoiding light pollution, while also transporting telescopes safely and easily.”

Although we’ve heard and seen vehicles making a lot of effort to move to the next level, Nissan has raised the bar with this collaboration. We will be right around to record future developments on this project.
