After winning the 2018 Daily News Auto(DNA) award for Small SUV 2018, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 promises to come with more energy, style and performance. Information emerging from reliable sources indicate that the 2019 edition will come with a 2.5 L 4-cylinder(now being used by the Mazda 6 and CX-9 models).
It might also be able to get off to around 250 hp,essentially upping the the vehicle to others in this leagues. The 2.5-liter inline-4 previously available on the model will still be an option. One of its friendly characteristics is a fuel-saving cylinder-deactivation technology.
It is also credited for delivering 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The standard gearbox is a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive but you can also choose a higher trim all-wheel drive.
This is a good time for tech enhancement and the CX-5 2019 is promising to take care of things on this end. There is the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control, cooled front seats, a revised gauge cluster, and power-folding mirrors.
Of specific interest here is the G-Vectoring Control(GPlus), a technology meant to to improve traction during cornering by controlling the vertical load on each axle by producing a variant on the engine torque. GVC Plus does even a refined job by smoothing braking during cornering.
The newly introduced signature trim is likely to be the premium, replacing the Grand Touring which will still be available. We are also ready to welcome with the CX-5 nighttime pedestrian detection, a 360° View Monitor,17-inch aluminum wheels among other upgrades.
Possibly, in just a couple of days (presumably at the Los Angeles auto show, which starts November 28) Mazda may bring this updated version over. We can’t wait to finally have a closer look.
