Ferrari decided, for some reason to simply repeat this car’s name twice. If this was meant to emphasize its rich, authentic, and far reaching qualities, then it doesn’t disappoint.
The LaFerrari is the first hybrid supercar from automaker and stood as the most powerful road car at the time of inception. Built in limited numbers and offered to a select few existing clients, exclusivity was perhaps yet another great consideration about this hybrid car.
Production started in 2013 and a total of 499 coupes were manufactured. Several years down the line, acquiring one of them today still requires knowing the right people in the right places.
According to the design team under the leadership of Flavio Manzoni, the Ferrari LaFerrari utilizes a combination of form and function. It bears F1-inspired aerodynamics and plenty of sharp character lines to bring together one of the wildest production cars from Ferrari.
Inside, the LaFerrari carries a creatively designed steering wheel that is more square than it is round. The overall interior design denotes a more sporty car that is meant more for the track than road abilities.
But it is the powertain that makes this machine a rocket and a marvelous gem for enthusiasts. The LaFerrari benefited by being the first car from the brand to use a hybrid drive system known as the HY-KERS system.
It has a 6.3-liter V-12 and two electric motors. Total output is 963 horsepower (800 from the ICE and 163 from the electric motors) and more than 663 pound-feet of torque.
To help keep everything kosher on the road, the suspension system has been designed specifically for the car. The Brembo brakes are in place to bring this cute kitten to a cool-heeled halt.
The Laferrari prides 0-60 mph time of under 3-seconds,reaching a top speed of more than 218 mph. This car still stands out as one of the most competitive and outstanding models around with limited challengers even now.
