Ferrari is getting ready to introduce the Ferrari 296 GT3 as a replacement for the aging 488 GT3 EVO race car. A recent sighting by @simone_masetti_99 captured the car undergoing testing at Fiorano.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 is set to represent the iconic brand in numerous sports car series around the globe, including the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours and other races featured in the World Endurance Championship.
The Ferrari 296 GT3 presents a stunning appearance in its GT3 form. It features an intricate front splitter with dive planes on each side. The front fenders boast distinct louvres, and the wheel arches are designed for enhanced aerodynamics. At the rear, the car showcases a wider profile with a top-mounted GT3-spec wing and a substantial diffuser.
Powering the Ferrari 296 GT3 is a potent 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Unlike its road counterpart, this racing version does not include the hybrid system. The internal combustion engine alone can deliver 654 hp, while when combined with the electric motors, the total output reaches an impressive 818 hp and 546 lb-ft.
Meanwhile, McLaren is also in the process of developing a new race car. The racer based on the Artura model spotted at Monza last month was built to GT4 specifications.
