The Hispano Suiza Automobile Factory S.A. was established in Barcelona in 1904 by Damián Mateu and Marc Birkigt, who was a technical director and engineer and partner in the company. From 1904 to 1946, Hispano Suiza produced over 12,000 luxurious high-performance vehicles and approximately 50,000 aircraft engines. Today, the company’s headquarters, technical center, and manufacturing plant are still located in Barcelona, Spain, embodying a proud Spanish heritage and strong family legacy.
In 2019, Hispano Suiza introduced the Carmen, its first fully electric hypercar. Following its success, the company unveiled the Carmen Boulogne, a limited edition hypercar with only 24 units produced. The initial Carmen Boulogne in the United States was acquired by collector Michael Fux in 2022, and this specific vehicle will be showcased at Monterey Car Week in two weeks.
