When it comes to vehicles showcased in movies, they hold a special place in shaping our perceptions of motoring. This influence is even more profound when these cars come with unique and special features. Among all the movie characters, James Bond stands out as an iconic figure in contemporary cinema.
It’s not a coincidence that the cars featured in Bond movies catch the attention of car enthusiasts. In August 2018, Aston Martin made headlines by announcing the reproduction of the legendary Aston Martin DB5, which has been a prominent feature in all Bond films.
Only 25 limited edition replicas of this iconic car are slated for production, promising an exact resemblance to the original model. Notably, the car will include the famous gadgets installed by Q in the movies, such as revolving license plates and other intriguing tricks.
These unique features are being co-developed by Chris Corbould, the renowned special effects supervisor who has worked on numerous James Bond films. Authorized by Aston Martin and EON Productions, all the Goldfinger edition vehicles will adhere to a specific specification – featuring Silver Birch paint, just like the original model.
Andy Palmer, the President and CEO of Aston Martin, emphasized the allure of owning a Silver Birch DB5, complete with gadgets and crafted to the highest standards in the very factory where the original James Bond cars were produced. He expressed that this opportunity is the ultimate fantasy for collectors and James Bond fans alike.
While we anticipate immersing ourselves in this fantasy, the thought of enhancing James Bond cars with modern technological advancements while cherishing the nostalgia of the past era brings an extra layer of excitement.
