The Opel Insignia GSi is positioned as Opel’s comeback to the sports sedan segment, which was previously occupied by the discontinued Insignia OPC. Unlike its predecessor, the old OPC, that was only available with a powerful yet fuel-hungry twin-turbo V6 engine, the new GSi offers the option of a diesel engine.
The new GSi packs a punch with 210 horsepower from its twin-turbo four-cylinder engine, and there’s also a 260-horsepower petrol version available. Additionally, it features all-wheel drive with a sophisticated torque vectoring system between the rear wheels along with premium amenities such as LED ‘Intellilux’ headlights and supportive sports seats.
Despite the fierce competition in the upscale German sports sedan market, the Insignia GSi possesses the qualities to carve out its own space among discerning buyers.
With the latest model being almost three inches longer than its predecessor and boasting a wheelbase that’s nearly four inches longer, there’s a significant increase in interior space and rear legroom. This allows passengers to have ample room to relax, while enhancements in cabin quality further enhance the overall feeling of spaciousness and luxury.
Available as a five-door hatchback with a sleek fastback appearance due to the extended roofline, the estate variant is known as the Insignia Sports Tourer. The interior is generously equipped with features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic headlights, heated electric mirrors, LED taillights, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Opting for the Design Nav trim or the SRi trim allows you to upgrade to a navigation system, along with climate control, a rear spoiler, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, and ambient LED interior lighting. The Opel Insignia is a vehicle that exudes ambition and is well-positioned to elevate your driving experience.
