Ferrari and McLaren are renowned for their advanced engineering and impressive track record. These automakers are constantly pushing the boundaries of automotive technology. In a direct comparison presented by CAR magazine on YouTube, the Ferrari 296 GTB and the McLaren 750S face off, both vying for dominance in the highly competitive supercar market.
On paper, the Ferrari 296 GTB showcases an extraordinary 819 horsepower generated by its state-of-the-art 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain. In contrast, the McLaren 750S delivers 740 horsepower with its traditional 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Despite the power difference, the McLaren competes strongly due to its lighter weight, weighing nearly 200 kilos less than the Ferrari.
So, how do these figures translate into real-world performance? Ben Barry from CAR magazine takes both these supercars for a spin to analyze their speed, performance, handling, and pricing, in order to determine the superior choice between the two.
