The CLK 63 AMG ‘Black Series’ stands as one of the rarest limited-edition models from Mercedes-Benz, with only 500 examples manufactured between 2007 and 2009. As the dedicated performance arm of Mercedes-Benz, AMG boasts a storied legacy of developing high-performance variations of standard vehicles, fostering a dedicated global fan base that encompasses prominent figures from motorsports, entertainment, athletics, and business sectors.
AMG equipped the CLK 63 AMG ‘Black Series’ with a robust 6.2-liter V8 engine, generating 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, which is transmitted to the rear wheels via a SpeedShift 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. This configuration allowed for a remarkable top speed of approximately 186 mph.
Notable features of the Black Series include a manually adjustable suspension system, a limited-slip differential, enlarged air intakes, lightweight bucket seats, 19-inch alloy rims, and carbon fiber enhancements such as a rear spoiler, diffuser, and expanded wheel arches, all designed to enhance performance and project an assertive aesthetic.
